Philanthropy Begins at 40

North of the border, Halifax homemaker Jennifer O’Connor has taken her recent 40th birthday as an occasion for a unique new year’s resolution: to do 40 charitable events during 2011. Encouraged by her friend Cardboard Cutout Paula Abdul, O’Connor is already set to start:

The first two charitable events are already on the go: O’Connor said she set up an endowment fund for women’s health through the IWK [Health Centre], and she’s putting together a team for [real Paula Abdul’s] Bust a Move event on March 26.

Forty events in a year is, what, about one event every nine days? She’s going to be busy.
