Corporate Volunteering Gaining Ground

The Chicago Tribune highlights several corporate volunteering efforts, reporting that this form of corporate giving is on the rise:

Corporate volunteerism is growing, with 20 percent more companies allowing employees paid time off for volunteer projects than three years ago, according to a report released in October by the Committee Encouraging Corporate Philanthropy.

The story also relays evidence that these sorts of volunteering programs also increase employee satisfaction and retention.
