Champaigne Giving on a Beer Budget

December 15, 2010 at 7:31 PM

CNN and Money Magazine have a published an excellent article on how the average middle class person can adapt billionaires’ giving strategies to their own giving.

They look at several strategies these big donors follow and suggest ways someone of more modest means can employ them. Whereas the rich have fancy foundations, you can open a donor-advised fund. While the wealthy hit their friends up for donations during expensive weekend retreats, you can gather like-minded friends to volunteer together or pool your giving.

The only criticism I can level at the article is the ridiculous Photoshop used to illustrate it. I guess they were all sharing a good laugh when Oprah suddenly had to leave.
