Charitable Giving in Recovery?

December 1, 2010 at 10:04 PM

GuideStar claims that “the worst may be over” regarding decreased contributions to charitable organizations in the down economy, reports the Kansas City Star.

The survey seems like a mixed bag – 36% of charities said donations were up compared to 37% who said down – but GuideStar’s take is optimistic.

They are careful to hedge their bets, however:

“These figures may herald the beginning of an economic recovery in the nonprofit sector,” GuideStar reported. [emphasis added]
